Thank you for visiting EYT JAPAN. EYT JAPAN stands for “Enjoy Your Trip to Japan.” We chose this name to express our hope that you will enjoy your trip to Japan.
Our site launched in February 2024 and is run by two travel enthusiasts from Japan. The inspiration for creating this site came from a trip to Thailand. One of us, planning to move abroad in the future, stayed in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a month. With great excitement, this person rented a service apartment via Airbnb and headed to Chiang Mai. However, the month-long stay turned out to be less enjoyable than expected.
Traveling abroad during school years or in the mid-20s was always exciting, but this time it was different.
Upon reflection, we realized the main reason was a strong desire not to inconvenience others around us. I don’t speak English or Thai. In younger days, we were more eager to enjoy ourselves without worrying much about others. But as we grew older, the concern of not wanting to inconvenience others grew stronger, leading us to repeatedly visit the same places like restaurants and cafes.
In Japan, English speakers are few outside tourist spots. We wondered if travelers to Japan might be feeling the same way we did.
Another eye-opener was a week-long trip to Italy, where we realized we only knew pasta and pizza as “Italian food.” Although we knew Italian food was delicious, we were unaware of other dishes. Naturally, Italy offered a variety of delicious foods!
In Japan, sushi and ramen are popular, but Japanese people know there are many other great dishes. We felt this was similar to our experience in Italy. It highlighted how challenging it can be to gather information effectively.
Traveling abroad involves significant time and money. We believe everyone has the right to fully enjoy their trip to Japan! To help travelers exercise this right, we created this site.
While I don’t speak English, but my co-admin speaks a little. However, since writing in English is challenging, we use translation tools to create our English content. As a result, some phrases might sound a bit awkward. Please bear with us.
We are also studying English and will make improvements as we go along.
